One bite at a time – progress report

Hi all,

I think we’re making slow but sure progress on the two-way website. Web committee is reconstituted and engaged in vigorous debate and folks are doing what they can to update their sections. Web design and the web template is an issue with 14 Departments. Territory issues are also opportunities in our website update. I’m clinging to recruitment and “contact us” links at every appropriate point. Our Municipal Clerk has many opportunities as well. Her section is robust as it is. But one-way. the Administrator is engaged with an “About Sitka splash page.

Subject: Electric Dept website

Hello,

I just wanted to let you know how satisfied I am with the new Electric Dept website.

My home electric bill almost doubled last month. I was perplexed why it had, but after reviewing your home usage information, and the calculator, I see why it did.

I also learned some good tips on saving electric usage in my home. I am now shopping for a new hot water heater and have just purchased a water saving nozzle for my showerhead. I am replaced 50% of my lights with CFL bulbs, and will replace the remainder as they wear out.

Your website is a good example of the CBS taking the time to explain departmental operations and provide customer friendly information.

Thanks for doing a great job!

Cool to get that kind of feedback. Work by committee is always entertaining. But I think you have some good ideas so it will get there.
