Event Description

Apply the audit report writing process and discover specific grammar issues that make audit report writing different from other forms of writing. Define your audience, focusing on report framework and readability. Develop the skills necessary to produce quality audit reports so that they will influence decision makers and inform others. This course provides a structured approach to planning, developing, writing, reviewing and revising audit reports. Designed for new auditors as well as those with several years of experience, this course defines the typical format of the audit report, with components common to federal, state and local audit reports. Receive strategies and helpful tips for understanding how findings form the foundation of the audit report and building the report on that foundation. Acquire methods for drafting audit reports that are clear, comprehensive and concise. Using data from a case study, course participants practice designing and developing an audit report. Finally, based on that report and supplemental examples, the course explains how to revise paragraphs and sentences with the reader in mind.
