The mission of the eGovernment Interest Group (eGov IG) is to explore how to improve access to government through better use of the Web and achieve better government transparency using open Web standards. The eGov IG is designed as a forum to support researchers, developers, solution providers, and users of government services that use the Web as the delivery channel and enable broader collaboration across eGov practitioners. This is the second Group face-to-face meeting. The Group has been compiling use cases and identifying the most pressing issues around the use of the Web in government projects that need to be most urgently addressed. Issues such as Open Government Data, Participation and Citizen Engagement and the use of Social Media (among others) will be discussed. Participation is free and open (learn more) but registration is required.
