Had a great night last night meeting tons of people in person for first time like Nicholas Charney, Geordie Adams, Sarah at First Responders...reconnecting with old friends like Bill Eggers, David Tallan, Jim Stogdill, Clay Johnson...many more great people were met and to be met...
I'm liking David Eaves open data analogy to what it did for baseball and what it could do for government. Need an explanation just read Moneyball, story of how the Oakland A's made a winning team on half the salary, would love a government that could do that!
If anyone has a transcript of Tim Berners-Lee I'd love to read it. It went a tad fast for me but I know it involved chips!
Don't have the transcript, but maybe the youTube link will help.. :)

Kathy Sierra's talk about passion and kicking ass really struck a node. People won't be passionate about something they continually stink at. You have ramp up passion in order to succeed and that means getting people good at what they do.
The morning panels at Gov2.0 were top notch. In terms of personal growth, Kathy Sierra's talk was so insightful. She discussed the beauty of passion and how it leads to innovation. With passion for something you are able to see and interpret things in new ways. She gave the example of someone who is passionate about stars. That person might then Google stars and come across light pollution and discover that he/she is not only passionate about stars but about sharing that passion with others by seeking ways to reduce light pollution. In order to be successful you have to have passion. If you don't then you are in it for the wrong reasons.
Microsoft's Townhall is being used for the Gov 2.0 expo - check it out - you can ask the keynote speakers questions prior to their sessions tomorrow and discuss other questions. It is easy - log on, ask questions and vote for others. http://bit.ly/b29h4f
Steve - really great talking with you!!! Also, thank you to all who have been tweeting throughout the conference! Some really great discussion and information!
I attended one afternoon session on "How Governments are Harnessing the Value of Community and Collaborative Technologies: Discussion and Real-Life Stories" hosted by Rob Howard of Telligent. This presentation looked in particular at the advancements made in technology in Haiti. Rob emphasized how to use data intelligently and how to analyze effectively. By analyzing engagement (what tools to use and how); visitors (where are people coming from and how); and content (how to drive and reshape for the future).

What I took away from this is that government needs to understand and interpret both web analytics and social analytics in order to effectively engage, only then can you start to tell a story about the community.

Can't wait for tomorrows sessions!
At citizen engagement session right now...

Dan Munz - GSA talk about great work at GSA
VA CTO - talking about engagement

Serious about providing channels
We are changing a culture and innovating
Here's Steve's blog from his early morning session with Dan Munz: http://www.govloop.com/profiles/blogs/gov-2-expo-citizen-engagement

Would be awesome if people live blogged from their sessions... just saying.
FWIW, I was going to tweet from the stage but the audio guy made us shut off our phones! Glad Steve was there to document the action & thanks for passing it along!
