So I was just reading this post by Beth Beck at NASA about how she hates paperwork.

And I do, too.

Don't lie.

So do you.

So what are the REPETITIVE forms that you have to fill out or the tasks that you have to complete that make you want to take it all to the shredder?

Heck - let's talk about 'em all.

Can't wait to set this forum (and form) on fire...

Amen, Sister!
I tried this while I was on active duty. Now I reccomend it to others. If I felt a particular report, form, paperwork etc was useless or worst, never looked at. I would accomplish it as required for 3-4 iterations or one to four weeks, depending on the frequency. Weekly/Monthly reports for example I would accomplish as required for 3-4 weeks/months. However, I would NOT forward. Instead I would maintain them in my files and wait. If no one inquired I stopped doing them. If someone did inquire, I would make up a plausible excuse and IMMEDIATLY get it to the person asking. I would also use the opportunity to inquire as to the validity of the paperwork and see if there is an opportunity to change. I had situations where all three occured. 1.) It was never missed. 2.) I was questioned and subsequently made it available and either a.) had to continue providing it without good justification, or b.) clarification making sense. and 3.) As a result of asking had the requirement discontinued.
Filling out a paper timesheet to turn in to a timekeeper so they can input the data into a computerized system! Can we NOT trust federal employees to input their own time and the supervisor to sign off on it? Or have the supervisor input the time and then it's okayed by the head timekeeper? ARGH!

The one that really kills me is having to submit an abstract for GPC (government purchase card) purchases over $3K...even if it is through GSA. An abstract is just a form submitted to Contracting that shows we have done research to prove that there are 3 other vendors with higher prices than what we purchased. I think it's stupid because if we purchase something through GSA we should automatically be exempt from this rule because GSA has already done the "shopping" for us. Let us find what we want and buy it without the additional paper!!!!!

Oh yeah....and the never ending reports to HQ, to the new Commanders, to Staff meetings and so on that require you to "just add up some numbers", "just provide us some figures from last quarter" and on and on ad nauseum!
