City Administrator, City of Stanwood, WA  -  $98,400 - $117,504

The City of Stanwood is a growing community located along the I-5 corridor in northwestern Washington. Stanwood maintains its small town charm yet it is close enough to Seattle, which is less than an hour south, to enjoy all it has to offer. Stanwood is the “town center” within a larger region and both relies on and serves the population of the larger area. This area includes beautiful Camano Island which has one access point to the mainland via bridge and through Stanwood. The island offers state parks, beaches, wildlife, and wonderful views of Puget Sound. Stanwood is a beautiful and scenic place to live, as well as a wonderful community in which to work.

With a population of approximately 6,220 residents, and a service population of over 34,000, the city provides a full range of municipal services. Stanwood operates under a Mayor/Council form of government and currently has 33 employees and a total 2012 budget of $12,347,551. Under the direction and authority of the Mayor, the City Administrator oversees the city’s day-to-day operations.

Job Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field and ten years of progressively responsible management experience in public administration. Any combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the level of required knowledge and abilities may be considered.
