About Us

Welcome to American Society for Public Administration (ASPA)’s National Capital Area Chapter (NCAC)! Without a doubt, NCAC has enjoyed tremendous success in promoting ASPA’s mission throughout the DC Metro area. Our membership boasts of over 400 registered members and we have worked to ensure that we weave an intricate network of professionals and students in both the public and private sectors who are currently working or aspire to learn more about serving the public throughout DC and nationwide. Our chapter hosts several events to encourage networking, lecture-series, and outreach throughout the nation’s universities and community.

We plan to enhance current outreach efforts by organizing the chapter’s internal structures – restructuring the roles and responsibilities of Board members, and establishing a formal volunteer recruitment system. Through these initiatives, we hope to maximize your experience with NCAC and continue to promote the chapter’s commitment to excellence in the public administration.

Our Mision:
NCAC connects people to improve government and promote both the value and experience of public service.

Our Vision:
NCAC will be the premier organization to interact with other national capital area public service professionals with similar career paths and professional challenges.

Our Long Term Goals:
1. Provide a forum to promote and recognize the value of public service
2. Foster inclusive networks among those who serve the public
3. Grow the chapter membership and ensure its viability

Our Passion:
NCAC is passionate about promoting public sector excellence and connecting our members.

Come to the ASPA conference panel on Saturday at 2:45 on New Vistas in Performance Management. I'll be presenting "To Lawyers Who Become Government Managers: Do it the French Way." Here are the slides:

Hi NCAC! ASPA National is hosting a workshop in DC for new public service professionals called “Preparing Yourself for the Next Level of Your Career.” To encourage greater participation, lower registration rates are being carried over through Monday 10/4. We hope to see a few NCAC members there!

Hello All,
I am a Federal retired executive with a Masters in Public Administration. I just found out about this chapter via GovLoop. When I joined NCAC, did I automatically join the American Society for Public Administration or do I need to do that as well? I am looking forward to promoting and recognizing the value of public service as I have a passion for public service having served and benefited from the great people in government for over 38 years! Let me know how I can help.
Regards,
Pat
