Hello Acquisition2.0!  New dialogue to improve fed procurement! Take a look and share your ideas.  May 5 is the deadline.

I invite you to read my article, Digital Pentagon, which was published in Defense AT&L Magazine.  Hopefully it spurs some ideas for change in federal acquisitions.  I welcome your comments and ideas.

Digital Pentagon

The time has come for the Pentagon to retire its Industrial Age management model and invent a radically new approach for the Digital Age. The Department of Defense (DoD) faces an increasingly complex operational environment at a time of decreasing defense budgets. The DoD would yield better results if it harnessed its strategic initiatives to enabling innovation instead of strict cost-cutting measures. What a week - I've never seen procurement reform talked about so much at the national level.

Lots of people are proposing procurement reform solutions.  However, I think the best experts are those in government like this group doing it.

So I just posted a thread - how would you fix procurement?  Leave a comment or idea

The State of the Federal Market

It is as good a time as ever to evaluate the federal environment and draw some conclusions on the effects of the sequester. Many other factors come into play when considering the Federal Market from the perspective of a Government Contractor.

GLASScon II: The Second Iteration of the Government Lean-Agile Software Systems Conference

For Government folks interested in a low cost conference to learn more about Agile and Lean, please consider attending GLASScon, the Government Lean-Agile Software & Systems Conference, 4-5 June 2013 at the Navy League Building (at Courthouse Metro).  The cost to attend is $30/day or $45 for both days.  We have some great speakers including Luke Hohmann, Richard Cheng, Dr. Ahmed Sidky, Jon Terry, Sanjiv Augustine, Brandon Raines, and Jim York to name just a few.  You can find details at http://glasscon.us and follow @GLASScon4gov on Twitter for the latest updates.  Be sure to also check out the Innovation Games workshop on 3 June (see the Workshops page).

We encourage you to bring an contracts specialist/officer as well! (See the Open Letter to these folks on the site...)

At this cost, you really won't get a better deal...

Can someone help out Kari from Sacramento? She's looking for average time from a project manager requesting a contract to having full agreement in place
