former crew leader for decennial and address canvassing.  Thought it was great work.  Are there any opportunities for part time work in the Cleveland area (Detroit region)?

Hey Census Folks - We are a running a contest: talk about performance measurement at your agency and win a free ticket to the Performance Symposium on June 27-30:

The reason I am pinging US Census is because I just read an excellent profile of former Commerce Secretary Locke's creation of a results-oriented environment.

Anybody know what's going on with people not getting paid on time? Was it a glitch in the system? Whatever it is the press is not good: http://governingpeople.com/Home/23269

I guess I've joined the CBG and I have but one question for any CB HR personnel. I applied for a position at CB and received the following, "You have been referred to the selection official". My question is this, can any of you tell me what that means, and when should I expect to hear from this person if at all?

Thanks

Glad I already filled mine out and won't have to have one of these people at the door but it is cool that they are using gear made by non-profits:http://www.govloop.com/profiles/blogs/seen-any-census-takers-yet

I was reading this interview with Census CIO Brian McGrath in Federal Computer Week and was sparked to ask a question:

Why Aren't We Conducting the Census 2010 Online?

Your thoughts?

My team is responsible for managing the Bureau's legacy servers to a centralized environment of blade servers and virtual servers. I face TCO, LTSO and ITSO and also serve as the team's SME on Linux, Open Source and Virtualization.

I am an advocate for the computerization of the disabled. I was curious as to what opportunities will be available for the disabled by the census?
