I've been doing a lot of cruising the net for great sources on customer service in government for our new website, and I came across some research - I've lost the darned thing - that concluded, based on survey data, that at least some parts of government are perceived as having better customer service than the private sector?
I've been saying for a long time that government employees are often more dedicated and commited to doing a good job for the public, but I'm surprised at the PERCEPTION - that others share the same perception. Anyone know of any research on this?
Anyway, since I've lost the article, it's possible I got it a bit wrong, but in any event, what's your take on that question/comparison.
We set up a poll asking for a comparision of private sector versus public secto..., and I'd appreciate it if people would register their opinion, and perhaps comment there.
Or here. Whatever you prefer.

Usually it's the rare occurrence of good customer service that makes you realize what you are missing.
