Martin F. Horn, the former Commissioner of the New York City Department of Corrections and Department of Probation, recently conducted an exclusive interview with Fed UC.

During the interview, Martin discusses the latest trends and challenges in the corrections community and the ways that new technologies can help to improve today’s criminal justice system.

A new white paper was just published on EngageGovToday about using location intelligence and spot mapping to help law enforcement agencies become more proactive in fighting crime.

Here's a link to the overview. It's interesting technology that delivers more proactivity without being "Minority Report creepy."

Are any local law enforcement organizations and police departments in the US using technology like this now? I know that it's been used effectively in the UK. I'd love to hear if it's made its way across the pond!

HI, just wanted to introduce myself.  I am a 22 year correctional officer for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Three Rivers, TX.  I have an BS in Criminal Justice and working on my MPA.  I look forward in engaging in forums discussing correctional issues as well as public administration.  Have a good one.

Harris County, Texas, released a new app for reporting tips. Any thoughts on whether this is a good move, or could lead to a lot of noise? http://www.govloop.com/profiles/blogs/harris-county-launches-iwatch...

Me thinks this group may require a defibrillator. Your LinkedIn counterpart group is rocking!
