For my cyclists folks...I thought you might get a kick out of this post on the "The Bike Conference"

If you're riding the Backroads Century this Sunday, I'll see you out there on the rolling Virginia country roads!  I'll be the guy wearing a Starbucks jersey.

Would you bike into work more often if it were easier to find a safe spot to park it?
Here's a heat map visualization that helps UK cyclists do just that:

Props to Easton Wheel Sports!!! They inspected & repaired my rear EA-90 Aero (all new DS spokes, tweaked the hub, did some other stuff) FOR FREE even though it's 16 months out of warranty...

If you're following the tour de France, you might enjoy some insight into the race from a rider's perspective. Chris Horner blogged after Stage 1. http://www.cascadegranfondo.com/blog/tdf-stage-one-finally-our-way

From this year's Bay to Bay Ride, it was great to see a fellow GovLooper (GovLoop-ian?...  GovLoop-ican?, anyway) riding in the colors, riding hard and fast. One hundred miles through constant winds.  Bravo!!!

Dover will be celebrating their 25th anniversary for the Annual Amish Ride.  This year, the ride will be held on Sept 10th, one day before the 10th anniversary of 9/11 so I'm sure it will be very patriotic ride being so close to Dover AFB.   Dinner in Rehoboth on Saturday night is always a nice way to end the day.

So it looks like I'm doing Lancaster Covered Bridge Metric Century in PA in Aug, Bay Country Century in Chesapeak Beach MD in Sep, BackRoads Century in Sep, and Seagull in Salisbury MD in Oct.  Maybe Reston Century in Aug as well,.  Can't forget about the www.actgov.org annual "Tour de ELC" in Williamsburg in late Oct either.  Here's a great site for rides in MD, VA, and DC  http://www.ohbike.org/events/

Dont forget the Gran Fondo event in Philadelphia on Aug 14 and the Back Roads Century on Sep 18.  For another fun ride, try the Tour Du Port in Baltimore on Oct 9th and then you can finish out the season with the Great Pumpkin Ride in Warrenton VA on Oct 22nd
