GovLoop - Social Network for Government

I am a conference producer at the Advanced Learning Institute. We plan a number of government and communication training events across the U.S and Canada: http://www.aliconferences.com/index.htm.

For many years our most successful government event has been our Social Media for Government training. With these events being so successful we’d like to push the bar further and hold a Mobile Government conference, however, we want to be sure we are headed in the right direction.

I was hoping you could help grant me some insight on this topic with answers to the following questions:

  1. With so many policies regarding privacy and secure government information, are government’s actively using Mobile to communicate internally & externally?

  1. Our “Social Media for Government” training have been focused on those in communications and public relations. For mobile we are curious as to who this training should be focused towards - Communications? IT?

  1. Where is the government currently with mobile – topic wise should this be 101 materials? A mixture?

  1. What is the top must cover topics in mobile government training?

  1. Are there any conferences I should look into that are successfully offering mobile training to government?

  1. Are there websites or associations that focus on the topic of mobile and government?

Thank you for any insight you may provide!!
