A lot of the discussion about technology in emergency and disaster situations seems to be focused on social media. Other hot technologies, such as geocoding and big data could also play a major role in disaster planning and response. My client, Pitney Bowes Software, just authored a post on how these technologies can make the government more proactive in emergency response. Here's the link, I'd be interested in hearing the group's thoughts on how effective these technologies could be in emergency situations:
