Draft Rules of Behavior for Forest Service IT Wiki-History Group

The purpose of this blog is to celebrate the history of information resources management in the US Forest Service. It is an effort to collect and organize information on the people, places and events that shaped the development of current information management systems.
The blog is open to all actors and stakeholders in this history, particularly former and current employees and contractors. To ensure a pleasant blogging experience for all, the following rules of behavior apply:
• Be respectful of others, and other historical perspectives.
• Ensure that material posted is relevant and accurate. Include references whenever you can.
• Do not post—
o information that is not approved for public release.
o personally identifiable information.
• Obtain permission from the author or the agency before posting –
o copyrighted material.
o FS logos or promotional information (e.g., pictures of Smokey Bear).
• If you are a current employee or contractor, and wish to express an opinion, add a disclaimer, such as:
“This statement is my own and does constitute an endorsement by or opinion of [my employer].”
