GovLoop - Social Network for Government

It's never easy to deal with data between a large number of people.  This definitely rings true for Sandra Giger and her team from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), who deals with data calls from 25,000 people in roughly 400 locations across the United States.

Before NOAA's implementation of Google Apps, a data call was usually conducted via email. This method was slow, overwhelming and formatting issues made cleaning up data extremely challenging. With a high probability of error, Giger and her team knew they needed a change.

In order to increase accuracy and efficiency, Sandra decided to use a Google Form for data calls. The form could be emailed directly to employees across NOAA, and forwarded on to others as needed.  The Google Form system streamlined the collection process and saved NOAA a lot of time and made analyzing data simple.

Is your agency utilizing Google Forms?

Thanks to Sandra and her NOAA team for being amazing Google Transformers! Be sure to learn more about Google's Government Transformers, and if you know a Government Transformer (or are one), please share your ideas with Google!
