Google is famously driven by data. Until Google+ that data was about web pages, places and news. Now that Google has added people to the mix, how will they use this data? Is social data really critical to Google's mission of organizing the world's information, or is it more relevant to their business model of advertising?

What kind of content would you like to see on the page? What have you liked/disliked from other Google+ pages you've encountered?

Comment by barbara haven on August 23, 2011 at 3:18pm Thanks, for the question about what types of content we put on Google+ as distinct from other social networks.
For me now some of my circles on Google+ are with photographers and people connected with future trends, but also with government in states and in general. The world of ideas looms large in my Google+ stream.
Circles worked so much better for me than groups in Facebook. Facebook has become my extended family place, but LinkedIn serves to connect with primarily professional connections.
In each case I have exceptions, which I think will be fewer over time. Google+ is so new right now. Will having "real names" and verified identities make a difference on Google+.
How about your different uses of these and other social media platforms?
Comment by Chris Poirier on August 17, 2011 at 10:23am ugh, sounds more like Facebook finally got one of their "negative" stories to run..lol. Seriously though, how can Inc say that when more than enough articles are printing discussion the membership levels are still increasing and increasing faster than anything else out there. Granted there is still a conversation taking place on whether people are actually USING Google+ rather than simply getting a log-on simply to check it out, but the numbers support that it isn't going to die tomorrow...
I have plenty of content to follow and can now track my twitter and facebook feeds and multipost from Google+ that it is really where i do most of my social engagement now.
