GovLoop - Social Network for Government

Information

GovLoop Canada

A Canadian discussion on how to use, improve, and share within the larger GovLoop Community (but open to everyone!). A great place to start when looking to connect with other Canadian Civil Servants.

Here is a concept header done by James Ferris (@Ferris842 on twitter)

You can see an example of it is use on my profile page.

We are planning at looking at the CSS style sheet and aligning the colour scheme, etc. If you know CSS let us know!

Or if you know how to customize a ning network we could use you!

Do governments allow employees to access and use social media sites? 1 Reply

Hi all,   I would be interested in hearing from others: 1. What are your organization's policies around employee access to social media sites? 2. If you are given access to the urls, can you actually…

Just wanted to share this great blog and perhaps start some discussion. What do you think about the situation here? Thanks to Mac Slocum. http://radar.oreilly.com/2010/03/the-state-of-open

Can you help me identify Canadian politicians I can chat with about government 2.0? 6 Replies

An area of exploration on my blog is government 2.0, hence I am on govloop.    http://johnfmoore.wordpress.com/how-business-and-g you help me identify the right people to chat with?   Thanks,   John

Open Gov and Open Data Two successful concurrent conferences - Lac Carling and MISA Ontario, There was a co-opted panel discussion on Open Data and you can find tweets at #laccarling and #misa_ontario

The MISA conference had a dedicated Gov 2.0 program track which included our friend, Steve Ressler - Mr GovLoop ;-) Thanks Steve.

There was also a mini unconference this morning - results to follow soon

The presentation on the Municipal Open Gov Framework is now available at the following website: http://www.slideshare.net/jkonga/municipal-open-gov-framework-work-in-progress#

CSPS is ostensibly running a course right now (according to the schedule) called: Engaging Citizens, Partners and Stakeholders (Z119). The Lead on our "Rights & Interests" Steering Committee was hoping we might be able to connect with someone that is on the course, or facilitating it? Contacting the school itself (CSPS) unfortunately didn't work, perhaps b/c it's the first time run through I believe, so I thought I'd try a different approach.

Hi Andrew!
Nice to meet you. Thanks for the link.
I'm at the provincial level. I don't think there's a group for us yet and I think I'd like to share across all levels for now. More info.
The maple leaf is a branding tool used by the feds here. But nice design for a header.

Love the header design above for GovLoop Canada. Just wondering about the big maple leaf on the right. Perhaps it's a bit too federal gov for the rest of us in other levels?
When can we see it go up?
