Permalink Reply by Meryland Cuevas on July 1, 2011 at 1:32am Hi all!!! I work for FDA under their Office of Regulatory Affairs in the San Juan District Office, Investigations Branch. I am a Consumer Safety Technician and currently acting Consumer Complaint Coordinator. I really love my job, the work we do for the public is amazing and makes me so proud to be part of this. I am looking forward to continue fostering my relationships with other members of the agency, I love networking, it's always good to meet new people with same interests.
A little bit of me... I am currently in grad school pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Technology Management... I've been to the DC area many times doing trainings and I just love it!! I wish some day I can move to work to that area, even though, I love the Puerto Rico weather!!!
Permalink Reply by Kelly Anderson on January 15, 2012 at 12:47am Greetings, fellow HHSers -
I'm so glad to find this group as part of my peripatetic wanderings through GovLoop. Being in HHS but outside of a public health agency, and outside DC, it gets lonely up 95 in Baltimore. . . .
Anyway, I'm with HHS' Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Clinical Standards & Quality (OCSQ). HR calls me a "Health Insurance Specialist," but my friends and foes call me the program manager for OCSQ's burgeoning communications team. We started as a 1-woman shop and have grown to 3 DIYers who have a passion for connecting our experts and resources in CMS/OCSQ with the "real world" of healthcare delivery at the bedside in order to improve care quality for Medicare beneficiaries, and hopefully, for us all.
We partner with CMS' Office of Communications on a heck of a lot, but we're still strongest in the "traditional media" sense. (We can write Q&A and press releases about regulations till the cows come home!) But we know that the times are a-changin'.
I'm particularly excited about leveraging social media as a mechanism to bring our program experts together with patients and caregivers on the front-lines of care. My group manages 53 Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs) and 18 End-stage Renal Disease Networks across the country, all of whom are tasked with partnering at the individual facility and clinician level to make the National Quality Strategy a reality. In 2012, social media HAS to be a part of that.
You can learn more about me and get my social media deets at http://about.me/kellymanderson. Please be in touch if you're working in the health quality space--would love to compare notes with you and find ways for us to work more synergistically across OPDIVs!
