GovLoop - Social Network for Government

Last April, The George Washington University Career Center, college job board CollegeRecruiter.com, and HR solutions provider RECSOLU teamed up to host a half day, non-profit, no selling, purely educational event for hiring managers, recruiters, and other human resource professionals who worked for the federal government. We hoped for 50 attendees but ended up with 72 attendees and a LOT of incredibly positive feedback.

This December, we're back with an all new agenda on Thursday, December 8th for those who work for local, state, and federal government organizations. We're also extending the days by a couple of hours so that we can add a lunch and student panel to the agendas!

To ensure maximum content delivery, we’ll again utilize the TedX format of 18 minute presentations followed by 12 minutes of networking breaks. This ensures a fast moving program with a large number of highly relevant presentations along with ample time for peer-to-peer networking among attendees.

Presentations: Steve Ehrlich, TMP Worldwide Advertising and Communications - Why Employers Need To Be Mobile

Alvin Plexico, Navy - How Navy Recruiters Use Social Media to Engage With Future Sailors and Their Families

Gerry Crispin, Careerxroads and The Talent Board, The Candidate Experience Awards: Recognizing Employers With the Best Candidate Experience

Kevin Tyrrell and Jackie Bennett - Internal Revenue Service - How to Develop a Media Plan to Ensure That Every Dollar Spent on Advertising is a Dollar Well Spent

Jennifer Henley, NAS Recruitment Communications - Best Practices for Campus Recruitment: A Case Study of Freddie Mac

Steve Ressler, GovLoop.com - How the Department of Homeland Security Successfully Recruits Top Students From Top Schools

Student panel moderated by Buthaina Shukri, Director of Employer Partnerships at The George Washington University

John Allen, Office of Personnel Management, The New USAJobs.gov: Tips and Tricks for Getting the Most Out of THE Federal Government Job Board

Tracy Brisson, The Opportunities Project, Creating a Sustainable College Recruiting Program from Scratch in 90 Days - A Case Study on Hiring 200 Teachers in Newark

John Flato, Universum - 20 Components of a Strategic College Recruiting Program

Like the April 2011 conference, this December conference will be a strictly no selling event and all net revenues will be donated to the GWU Career Center. The organizers at The George Washington University Career Center, CollegeRecruiter.com, and RECSOLU look forward to learning from you and with you!

Tickets are only $75 and include breakfast and lunch. Register today at http://fedcollegedecember2011.eventbrite.com/

Can private companies attend the Government day?

Yes but the content on the government day will be geared to government staffing leaders so virtually all corporte and non-profit folks will go to Wed 12/7/2011.
