I just got a loan repaid so decided to do another.
Join in - $300 raised, $975 more to go
Marcy is running a provision shop in the area of New Kru town where she lives. It is one of the early communities in Liberia that is well-known. she has been running this business for the past year and making lots of profit, since she sells quality drinks in her community.
Her profits are used for feeding, paying school fees, and improving her saving account. A problem she faces is the slow buying during the rainy season. She started this business by selling for her mother, who gives her little money. She sells from Monday to Saturday, spending ten hours on her business.
Tom: I can see that you're on the the Kiva team (you appear at http://www.kiva.org/team/govloop/members ), but I can't tell whether any particular loan is applied to the team.
Log into Kiva, then go to your personal team page: https://www.kiva.org/community/teams/my-teams
It'll show your "preferred" team - if it's GovLoop, then it should apply it to the team by default. If not, it won't unless you manually do it each time. I have mine set so GovLoop is the default team.
On that page, it'll also show how many loans you've applied to the team.
I can't figure out how to see whether a specific loan went to a team or not.
Thanks for revving up the group. Can you tell me if my loans are giving credit to this GovLoop group?
I just realized it's been 4 years since we started this group!
I just updated the totals on the permanent post at the top of the page: we've lent almost $40,000!
Let's celebrate by lending some more. We have 90 members here on GovLoop, but only 37 on Kiva, so either people are interested but not lending, or lending but not attributing loans to the GovLoop team.
If you're in the latter group, let me know if you need help applying loans to our team. If you're in the first group, please lend. :)
Hi gang. Not too much activity in this discussion group recently, but I just lent money to this group of women: www.kiva.org/lend/511310
From the project description:"Chaan, a widowed mother of five children and 48 years old, is a local farmer originally from Moung Russey district of Cambodia. She has two and a half hectares for growing paddy rice and one and a half hectares of farmland for growing sesame. Now, she has joined a group consisting of three female members. As the leader, she will spend her portion to pay harvesting fees and to buy fertilizer plus seeds for her farmland."
Hey GL Kiva folks-
Time again for a new loan...
I got a couple loans repaid recently so I went shopping for a new person to lend to.I just helped out Clorinda - A loan of $1,175 helps Clorinda to buy bags of pea seeds, a bag of lima bean seeds and sacks of organic manure.
She only needs $500 to meet her goal
Check it out - http://www.kiva.org/lend/480900
Tom: great! :)
Thanks I joined the team, sorry I didn't check this sooner, but now all my loans can be added to the team's totals.
Tom: you have to join the team on Kiva: http://www.kiva.org/team/govloop
Then when you lend, on the final screen, you'll be given a dropdown box where you can choose to associate it with the team.
I'm not sure I have been giving this group credit when I relend at KIVA. Is that something I do on the KIVA site?
