Permalink Reply by Stacy Rapp on December 27, 2011 at 9:30am What makes a boss great is when they actually step up when everything hits the fan. Everybody knows the type, they make sure to get things done and take care of their people in times of need. I've had bosses like this and they really know what it takes to get people to work for them. I think of one particular boss, and she was amazing. Now I think of two people who were like that actually :0) They both would fight for getting things done, they would back your decision making and would persevere no matter what it would take. I think those qualities make exceptional bosses. Ohh yes, and one of them would always say to our entire staff she had no idea how to use the program we used which is ironic coming from a boss, right? Her joke was she would do anything to help out, just don't ask about the computer (ok, she could do enough to get by but I think she just liked everyone to know her weakness). Sometimes bosses can't accept that they aren't proficient at everything, which in my mind, doesn't matter if you have people that can fill that gap and you're providing the leadership in every other way.
