Comment by Charlene McTier on March 31, 2011 at 11:23am Thanks Noel -- this is fantastic technology.
I know a couple of years ago when I was driving from Northern California to San Diego, my car broken down somewhere near Bakersfield. I wasn't able to locate my exact location of where I was. However, I was able to pinpoint what exits I had passed. I was about 50 miles from where they finally located me. GPS would have helped during that situation.
Just recently I had a flat tire on my car. When I called for help, they were able to track me on my cell phone GPS and came to exactly where I was. This was very reassuring for safety purposes.
This is so STAR TREKKISH! Coordinates are very important!
Comment by Noel Carr on March 31, 2011 at 10:03am Has anyone seen Episode Three of Geospatial Revolution? It focuses on geospatial technology’s role in safety - in times of war and peace - and has a a few great testimonials including Letitia Long, Director, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
