Hi everyone. I am one of two Business Plan Interns at Gateway NRA this summer. We are looking for successful examples of public-private parternships that have worked in the past to restore and/or maintain historic buildings. Specifically, our project is on the Riis Bathhouse on the Rockaway Pennisula in NYC. Would welcome any advice.

Working for the NPS in Shenandoah National Park has been an enriching experience. The area is beautiful and the people I've worked with have been top notch.

I'm a consultant working with Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National Historic Sites on e-mail and social media strategy. Does anyone here have experience with the NPS cms? We're trying to rev up their Web site but it's such a rigid template.

Hmm, we definitely need some more comments/discussions here. ;) I'm a Program Analyst @ WASO, thought I would say hello to all my fellow NPS folks now that I am done putting together the budget submission. :)

We just came back from a small vacation. We were on a dinsoaur tour. The best part was the Colorado National Monument near Fruita & Grand Junction - what a beautiful small park. Then we zipped up to the Dinsoaur National Monument. It's pretty sad that it is so off the beaten trail and that Congress is not giving them the attention they need to restore their visitor center. I hope ARRA sends some money that way. The best part of that park visit was seeing Josie's cabin. Reading her story about homesteading and her independence was awesome. It would be a perfect interprevtive oppertunity but no budget means no staff. This second park was a real example of the poor funding that all the parks are receiving in the past few years. As a former NPS employee, I sure hope this is not the future. We need our parks as well as our forests!

I'm hoping to get more of my NPS colleagues involved in Social Media. I've invited a few to join govloop and recommend this group to them.
