Hi Everyone - You might appreciate this upcoming training opportunity on using OPM's Performance Appraisal Tool. Details below:

A Workshop on OPM’s Performance Appraisal Assessment Tool (PAAT)

Description:

Does your organization’s employee appraisal program meet the critical factors necessary to be effective at helping supervisors manage employee performance?  How effective is your agency in implementing its appraisal program and the GEAR initiatives (Goals, Engagement, Accountability, Results)?  This 1-day workshop reviews OPM’s Performance Appraisal Assessment Tool (PAAT), how it is used to evaluate Government non-SES employee appraisal programs, how its evaluation criteria should be used as critical program features when revising or designing new programs, and how using the PAAT can support your GEAR  initiatives.

The purpose of this workshop is to:

  • Explain to agency appraisal program managers how to evaluate their non-SES appraisal programs using the PAAT and how to complete the PAAT; and
  • Review the criteria for an effective performance appraisal program, including the GEAR criteria.

When you complete this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Conduct an evaluation of your organization’s employee appraisal program and its implementation of GEAR initiatives using OPM’s PAAT.
  • Review non-SES employee performance plans for measurable results, accountability, and other GEAR and PAAT criteria to determine whether performance plans meet the PAAT criteria.

Who should attend:

This workshop would be most beneficial for agency staff responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and/or evaluating their organization’s performance appraisal program(s) and for new performance management staff members.

When and Where:

This workshop will be held twice - April 16 and April 18, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. both dates, at OPM’s Theodore Roosevelt Building at 1900 E Street, NW, Room 2316C, Washington, DC 20415.
