Hello all

What type programs does your agency offer in the way of reimbursement; repayment (existing student loans); reimbursement of new studies?

I know of two programs for Feds Tuition Repayment (OPM initiaitve) and a "bill" that after 10 years of service and student loan repayments the remainder of student loans are paid by government (employer)

Thanks

Gary

In my last office, we had Feds repayment.  We paid I think $10,000 a year each year (up to 3 years).  And I think you had to stay 1 year per every year they paid for (so if you worked 3 years, they'd pay 3 years, and you'd owe them 3 years more)

Hi Gary,

I am not sure where the "bill" currently stands, but not overly hopeful that it will pass soon in this climate.  Other than that you would just have to inquire with your own agency personnel to find out whether the Forest Service participates in the OPM program.

All the best to you,

Emery
