Welcome back to the NFL Pool for the 2011-2012 season!

No buy-in, no pay-out, no money involved, just bragging rights for the week and a beautiful travel mug prize for most correct picks over the season.

Download the playoff pool sheet below, fill in the name of the team you think will win each round -- READ the sheet carefully as results in the Wild Card round affect which teams plays where the next week. Pick the total points scored in the SUPERBOWL game as a tie-break. Please mention the score you pick in your post and Pay attention to the score other folks pick - first one to pick that score owns it in case of a tie.  Upload your picksheet back or just cut & paste in a post in this discussion with any words of wisdom you would care to impart.

Your pick sheets need to be uploaded BEFORE kickoff of the first game that week. Do it early! And Good luck!

Will the type of upset seen Thursday continue for Saturday (and Sunday) as playoff-bound teams with nothing to gain rest their players? I should have thought about this before I made my picks.

Review the results from last week.  Deeply weird results.  So far only one of our players, Bill, picked the Colts, so he is one up going into the weekend.  Lots of close matchups though.  Philly at Dallas, etc.  Should be an interesting week.

Congrats to Mike Psarakis for winning this week's pool!  He's got 11 so far.  The last two games are locks; everyone picked the same teams.  So numbers break down on Tuesday.  Merry Christmas!

Congrats again to Mike, the winner this week with 13 wins!  Shawn and Mark followed with 12, Ed, Kathy, Ian, Steph, Kat, and Rick with 11, Bill and Colin with 10, and Eddie and John with 9.

In the race for the cup Ian still leads with 161 followed by Mike and Shawn with 159, Eddie 156, Ed 147, Steph 139, Kathy 130, Bill 129, Kat 108, Colin 93, John 59, Rick 54, and Mark 20.

With next week's results I'll post the playoff sheet.  No Thursday game this week, so picks are due Sunday before the early kickoff.  Good luck!

Crunch Time!! For some other teams :/

OK, the site I get the pick sheets from got the Sunday night game wrong.  It was Dallas/NYGiants and not San Diego/Oakland.  We ended up with a six way tie.  Rick got the score of SD/OAK on the nose and Shawn got the score of Dal/NYG exactly, so they tie for this week's win!  Congrats, guys!  The breakdown:

Ed, Kathy, Steph, Colin, Shawn, and Rick led with 12 points, Ian, Mike, and Mark had 11, and Eddie, Bill, and John had 10.

In the race for the cup Ian still leads with 172, followed by Shawn 171, Mike 170, Eddie 166, Ed 159, Steph 151, Kathy 142, Bill 139, Kat 108, Colin 105, John 69, Rick 66, and Mark 31.

The playoffs can add an additional 11 points to your score IF you pick every game right (good luck with that...).

On the Playoff sheet, please fill in the name of the team you think will win each round -- READ the sheet carefully as results in the Wild Card round affect which teams plays where the next week. Pick the total points scored in the SUPERBOWL game as a tie-break.

The big winner and the awarding of the cup and a certificate (suitable for framing) will happen after the Superbowl is decided.  Good luck all!

Not sure if I sent this in through email or not, but wanted to be sure it got through.  Sprint to the finish!!

I had to redo this from memory, but if I did get my picks in through email earlier, feel free to use that one instead.

Good Luck to all!!!

Quick Wild Card weekend update:  We all missed Denver upsetting Pittsburgh, so the best anyone did was 3 out of the 4 games.  Ian still leads for the cup with 175, Mike and Shawn are at 172.  More details later.

Division Play off update!

John was the only player to get ALL four games right! Congrats!

In the race for the cup with only 3 games to go Ian leads with 177 followed by Shawn at 175, Mike 174, Eddie 170, Ed 163, Steph 156, Kathy 146, Bill 142, Kat 108, Colin 105, John 75, Rick 71, and Mark 33.

Wow, a very exciting Superbowl that went down to the last play!  A word on the Giants:  this was a team so plagued by injuries that the Washington Redskins beat them TWICE during the regular season.  At season's end with a relatively healthy squad the G-Men beat the Cowboys in Dallas, Atlanta at home, then GREEN BAY and San Francisco away, and finally New England.  Amazing string of wins against the best teams in the league and mostly in front of hostile crowds.

Congrats to the Giants and all that picked them.  Of course as I said last time, none of us actually picked the Giants.  We filled in our brackets for Green Bay or New Orleans and ended up with the Giants when Green Bay or San Francisco lost to them.  So this may have been a felix culpa for us.  I haven't heard back from too many you regarding the brackets vs weekly picksheet option, so I will make it a question on the first pick sheet next season.

Anyway, I want to thank each of you for playing and hope to hear from you all next season!

The final tallies: Ian, the winner, with 179. Shawn 178, Mike 177, Eddie 173, Ed (yours truly) 165, Steph 159, Kathy 149, Bill 144, Kat 108 and those of you who started late Colin 105, John 77, Rick 73, and Mark 36.
