Way Out of The Box!

Welcome to Way Out of The Box!

Did you ever have a crazy idea that just doesn't seem solid enough to tell anyone about? Did you ever just KNOW something would work if your could explain it or if someone would listen? Did you ever have a seedling of a crazy idea and stuffed it in the back of a notebook or file cabinet - promising yourself that you'd work on it more later?

If you said "yes," you've come to the right place. Consider Way Out of The Box! a sand box of thought activity. No one's idea is too outlandish to be posted in this space. No idea is too far fetched or impractical. The more outside of the box ideas get, the better!

People thought we'd never put humans on the moon or fashion black beans into brownies. Well... we've put people on the moon and I've recently tried (and enjoyed) black bean brownies - a healthy alternative to sugar and starch filled regular brownies.

So please jump right in. Search your hard drives and old file cabinets. Pull out those wild ideas and let this folks in this space see and improve them. Who knows? You might be (or put the rest of us) on to something.

Readers: read with all the love and care you would want someone to read your material with. We want to inspire and promote creativity, not squash anyone's confidence.

I've posted a few wild ideas of my own to help get us started.

Have fun!

Caution: Ideas viewed through Way Out of The Box! may be closer to reality than they appear.

Super fun conversation here - where will technology by in 10 years?

I said 3D / embodied experience, giant iPads on walls at airports for multiple users and holographs / augmented reality.  Yours?

I am not sure about this group. I have just retired from the VA and am one of the founders of WorldVistA, a 501(c)(3) that is bringing the Department of Veterans' Affairs integrated software system to the community hospitals around the world. The community hospitals in this country can use a system this sophisticated to manage medical patient information. We are directly interested in technology transfer and the establishment of community where the communities can be self-supporting and start innovating from local need and develop from their own Subject Matter Experts, the people at the point of care. VistA is an enterprise-wide solution system that was built to be extended. It is available for free, actually more than free, it is FOIA. This is the means of lowering healthcare costs in America and the rest of the world.
