GovLoop Project of the Week - FixMyCityDC

Although I don't live in DC, I work there and drive in DC daily. If I were a DC resident I'd be beyond pleased to have such a service to use.

FixMyCityDC is developed with open-source code and it allows users to submit municipality-related reports (downed trees, potholes, etc.), directly to the district's system for non-emergency city services. But this service does something extra awesome beyond that; it actually calls you back when the issues is resolved.

What I love about FixMyCityDC and other municipal related apps and services is that it puts the power back in the hands of the community, it allows them to get involved and have a role in fixing up their neighorhoods and I think the issue of transparency is driving all of these new services. Power to the People!

That is really neat! Do you know of any other cities that have implemented similar programs?
