- White House: Open Government Plan Best Practices. Agencies posted their first Open Government Plans back in the Spring. Since then, they have updated their plans based on public comments. The White House highlights agency best practices in a blog post.
- FDA Unveils Performance Management Site. Government Executive reports that the Food and Drug Administration is creating a set of “performance dashboards” they call FDA-TRACK. The dashboards monitor more than 100 FDA offices and report publicly on their progress on a quarterly basis.
- Agencies Hampered in Innovation Contests. Innovation contests are a proven way to incentivize innovation in the private sector. However, the Federal Times reports that the Obama Administration’s efforts to spark innovation via contests is having problems getting off the ground because of fears about fairness and sufficient legal authority to act.
