You probably have a New Year’s resolution. It may be losing 15 lbs. It may be spending an extra hour each week with your family. I have a few, but one is specific to government contracting: providing better customer service. One of the recurring themes of this blog is government contract specialists are in the customer service business. I plan to check with them on the 2nd of each month to find any opportunities for or problems with the contract. Afterwards, I will record that I checked with my customers for the month. This will let me be more active instead of reactive when it comes to managing contracts.
I think you should make a contracts New Year’s resolution, but it should follow the SMART guidelines of specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound. Here are a few ideas:
