Welcome to the “Corridor Management
Approach to Operations!” Course

Learning Goal:

The goal of this learning and development topic will be to equip operations specialists to deploy and/or advocate for various operations improvement techniques on a corridor basis.

Learning Objectives:

After the Corridor Management Approach to Operations Training, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the overarching concept of Corridor Management.
  2. Define Active Transportation and Demand Management (ATDM) and Integrated Corridor Management (ICM).
  3. Describe the differences between ATDM and ICM, and how they relate to each other.
  4. Identify the characteristics of corridors that could benefit from these techniques.
  5. Evaluate the candidacy of a scenario for either ATDM or ICM.
  6. Describe the steps for implementing ATDM and ICM.
  7. Describe the role of a Division Specialist in planning and implementing ATDM or ICM.
  8. Describe what resources are available for further assistance and information on corridor management

Week 1: Understanding Corridor Management (Week of Sep 15)

ACT: Complete an exercise entitled, “Corridor Management Overview Case Study.”

INTERACT: Attend a live discussion with SMEs, Practitioners and Peers.
