I too have spent much time out of this country and agree that we must understand the difference between our "relative plenty" and the rest of the world working day to day to survive. However, the US Dollar as the standard is in danger. To think that it is not is to ignore reality. So, while we are fortunate and should be grateful today - if we continue to be STUPID we will be standing alongside the rest of the world wondering how we are going to eat from day to day. To ignore that reality and to think that we are always going to bounce back and that we are the "CENTER" of the world is to be the arrogant American that I think you want us to NOT BE!
