I agree with Erica. I bought a Nook for pretty much the same reasons. After working on a computer all day, I wanted the easy-on-the-eyes e-ink technology - not the bright computer screen of the iPad or NookColor. All I wanted in an e-reader is the ability to read and borrow e-books from the library. Pretty simple.
After looking at iPad and what it offers, for the money, I think I'd spend a little more and just go with a notebook for more versatility and less clunky handling.
