Hmmm. I didn't want to oversell this, but I think I may have done a disservice by underselling it.
So, to help it along, I'll just say that it was recommended to me today by one of Canada's top tier public administration scholars, and is a scathing indictment of how across-the-board cuts in public sector staff have ended up costing more, rather than saving money. The author makes a pretty compelling case using some chillingly familiar recent episodes that I'll bet you didn't realize were aided and abetted by cuts to staff.
