I work for a federal contractor, embedded and onsite with our government customer. They have a team responsible for various elements and those in charge of more administrative pieces like EVM and contract management.
We have a contracting office with many different projects and task orders. There is a layer of work managers that are counterparts to the government managers. The project teams themselves who write code, configure hardware and COTS/GOTS, etc. are lead by project managers/systems engineers, and this is my role. I lead four of the subsystems.
Aside from the technical elements, we have a sizeable planning & controls group which includes controllers, schedulers, configuration management, document management, administration of boards (risk, configuration) and administration.
