I also watched on Saturday a great video on Brady that prepped me for his moment of humility:


He’s always been overlooked and had to fight for where he is…that’s why he’s humble. He knows it’s more than talent…it’s been tenacity.

Speaking of parenting, there’s a touching scene later in the documentary where Brady talks about draft day, getting emotional when it got to be round 6 and he was still not picked…but his parents where highly encouraging. I see that as a noteworthy lesson for leaders as coaches – be there for your rising stars as they get squashed or lost in the machinations of bureaucracy. Support them until they can get to a place where they can really shine.
