Best boss I ever had taught me the value in Not micromanaging. He taught decision making skills. Make your best decision, if it is wrong we will discuss why and what you could do better. If you make the same wrong decision again, it’s a different discussion. Zero micromanaging. I now have other upper level managers that micromanage. Their good employees are coming to my unit and we are productive. This is the only benefit that I see from micromanaging – being able to hire their good staff.
