    Are cheers in order?

Yesterday, the Senate rejected an extension of the Federal pay freeze.

Voicing his dissent, Senator Ben Cardin said “Enough is enough. Every amendment, they’re picking on the federal workforce”.

    Is there more to come?

I’m sure there will be more proposals, it’s safe for the House to do because the proposals will likely die in the Senate anyway. Then they look like the deficit cutters and can point fingers at the majority Democratic Senate for the state of the economy.

Another Ray of Sunshine! Today, the Senate passed the transportation bill, which included a provision that would reinstate parity between parking and mass transit subsidies for commuters. This means that those of us who use mass transit will be able to receive up to $240 a month in transit subsidies. Very good news, especially considering the rising cost of gasoline.

“Political Spring” is in the air! Thanks for the refreshing update, Terry
