CIO Magazine (July 1, 2010) reports that major U.S. companies are using analytics to better understand and improve business operations, and create almost continuous business recalibration for optimized efficiency and significant cost savings. The fast, data-driven decision-making has empowered business leaders by sustaining insights into their own organization and target markets. The CIO of Ingersoll contends that with such support, IT can “cut a path to faster and more fruitful decision making,” which lead to their company making “a higher investment in it [analytics] because they saw results.” What do you think about government engineering continuous analyses to recalibrate work processes?
