As an owner of a 30 + year old creative agency in Washington, we have found hiring top notch designers and technical production and programming-skilled people challenging in recent years. In fact, this past year we began a separate OmniCreative staffing agency to address this challenge and help other organizations find great talent for communications related jobs, both temporary and permanent.
Currently we have more than 20 positions to fill for companies in the Metro DC Area, which can be viewed here. I’m starting to wonder if there needs to be more training opportunities, which would enable people with foundation skills in design and production to meet higher level or advanced technical positions. In this time of high unemployment, certain types of positions are still going unfilled. I’d love to hear what others think.
