Role: Contracts Administrator
Location: La Plata, MD 20646
Clearance: Currently has a Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain this clearance
Salary Range: 75-90K annual DOE + full benefits (medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability, 401K, vacation and holidays paid, tuition reimbursement, etc)
Seeking a qualified Contracts Administrator with solid experience in a business development environment on increasingly complex project/proposal support programs through acquisition management, financial management, project/contract administration, contract pricing, budgeting, cost control, proposal preparation/coordination, program management assistance and management/ organizational control systems in accordance with Acquisition guidelines and the Government Federal Acquisition Regulations FAR/DFARS.
*Responsible for both pre-award and post-award activities and will administer government contracts and subcontracts while providing expertise in matters related to government contracting for multiple government agencies. A strong background in the government subcontracting process is a must. The candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of contracts ensuring compliance with all related regulations. Will act as single point of contact for internal clients and government representatives.
Pre-Award Responsibilities include:
Review solicitations to make a risk assessment, assist with the pricing strategy, and identify cost/price proposal requirements.
Prepare, review, and negotiate non-disclosure agreements and teaming agreements.
Assists with subcontractor requests for proposals (RFPs)
Negotiate and finalize contract documents with government contracting officers, other contractual points of contact, and prime contractor contracting representatives to ensure consistency with the solicitation and proposal.
Post Award Responsibilities include:
Regular interaction with external customers’ contracting staff in accordance with company policies, applicable laws, and customer requirements.
Day-to-day contract administration duties including negotiation of modifications and identification of risk issues.
Preparation of small business plans, organizational conflict of interest mitigation plans, and subcontracting reports.
Development of process improvements, when necessary.
Maintain electronic and hard-copy files.
Assist with contract closeout.
*Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline (or equivalent) with at least 4 years related experience in the Contract Administrator arena and posseses a demonstrated knowledge of the FAR/DFARs.
*Strong familiarity with defense industry contract administration, pricing, estimating, accounting, contract formation, negotiations, contracts monitoring, records and reports. Experience with Business law is desired.
*Possess a strong foundation in Government and/or Federal Acquisition Regulations.
*Superb writing, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Position requires strong individual initiative, organizational skills and ability to research issues/problems and offer alternative solutions.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Explorer, Outlook, and PowerPoint is a must.
*Will regularly interact with program/project managers, finance/accounting, HR, and senior management concerning issue resolution and the evaluation and mitigation of risks.
*Extremely customer service and relationship oriented individual needed to deal with clients and subcontractors
