    This is a reminder that the application process for the 2011 Voyagers Class is now open and will close at 5pm on July 9, 2010.

    Learn more about the ACT-IAC Voyagers program. Listen to the complete Federal News Radio interview.

    Dear ACT-IAC Members,

    The American Council for Technology – Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC)
    is now accepting applications for the 2011 Voyagers Class.

    The Voyagers Program is a mid-level cooperative program between IT industry
    and government professionals. The program will begin in October of
    2010 and will feature monthly activities through graduation at the
    Management of Change Conference (MOC), May 2011.

    The objective of the program is to prepare our “rising stars” for their
    future roles in industry and government. Using the same building
    blocks which make the ACT-IAC Partners Program so successful, the
    Voyagers Program will help participants:

    • Examine the changing needs and roles of today’s IT workforce;
    • Reinforce proper roles of government and industry;
    • Develop leadership and management skills; and
    • Provide career development guidance and training on how to network in the changing IT and business environment.

    Once selected, government participants will be asked to contribute a
    one-time registration fee of $3,295. The fee for industry
    participants will be $3,795. The fee will cover food and lodging for
    two off-site meetings, breakfast meetings, teambuilding events, as well
    as full registration and two nights lodging at MOC in May.

    Please note that the deadline for applications is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010. Because of the limited program capacity, competition will be keen. As a
    result, participation in the scheduled events (included in the
    application) is not optional, but mandatory. Those who believe that
    personal or work considerations will necessitate missing any scheduled
    program session should not apply this year.

    To find out more information and access the application, please click on the link below. (**Please click on the “Voyagers Application Submission Site” located in the left hand column to access the 2011 application.)

    2011 Voyager Information and Application

    The applications will be reviewed and evaluated, based upon the established
    set of criteria outlined on the website. If you have any questions
    regarding the Voyagers Program, please contact Jennifer Lingan,
    Associate Director, Professional Development, at
    [email protected].

    Thank you for your enthusiasm and support for this premier ACT-IAC
    professional development program! Please pass this on to colleagues
    in both industry and government who you feel fits the criteria.

    If you attended the Next Generation of Government program and enjoyed the conversation with Jim Williams and Lisa Schlosser that I led, I hope you’re thinking about applying for this program. It’s how people like Steve and I first got to know some of the folks like Lisa and Jim who have helped shape our careers thus far.
