    The Transportation Security Administration is seeking a Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Acquisition at the TSA Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. As a member of the Transportation Security Executive Service (TSES), you will guarantee the secure operation of TSA by deploying the resources, people, and technology to discover and deter threats. Your success is critical to national security.

    The Deputy Assistant Administrator for Acquisition (DAA) is a senior acquisition management official in TSA who provides executive leadership and senior technical expertise for TSA, on matters involving acquisitions and other transaction agreements. Salary ranges from $119,554 to $172,550 annually. The responsibilities of the position have an agency-wide impact and influence, which includes providing expert leadership in the establishment and implementation of innovative procurement strategies and implementation schedules, in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, laws and directives.

    Professional qualifications include:

    • Experience applying knowledge of Federal acquisition laws and regulations to specific acquisitions to achieve the desired outcome of supporting the mission at the best value for the government.
    • Experience communicating and resolving complex and controversial acquisition issues, including the development of acquisition plans/schedules and contracting strategies, with both internal customers and external stakeholders such as members of Congress.
    • Experience in leading a workforce to accomplish acquisition priorities and ensuring the workforce obtains necessary training and experience to develop into well-rounded acquisition professionals.
    • Knowledge of principles underlying multiple acquisition career fields such as contracting, program management, logistics, cost estimating, and test & evaluation.

    You will be evaluated on your experience, showing progressively responsible leadership indicative of senior level managerial capabilities (typically GS-15 grade level or equivalent). You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position. Successful completion of a background security investigation is required before appointment.
