    Job Description

    Mission Essential Personnel is currently seeking a Deputy Director of Human Resources to provide vision, leadership and project coordination for our Human Resource team in Afghanistan. Deputy Director works closely with the Director of Theater Operations and members of the corporate HR team to plan and administer policies relating to all phases of human resources activity in accordance with local and Federal laws.

    Key aspects of this position include:

    • Drives operational and process excellence in all aspects of employee support in Theater. Key activities include oversight of performance management, leadership, and team development. Individual provides oversight and leadership in development and delivery of training in a variety of HR topics and orientation.
    • Fosters awareness of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and takes ownership of policy, procedural, and reporting compliance including accountability for DBA process compliance in theater.
    • Keeps records of personnel transactions such as local hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting. Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, as well as conducts exit interviews to determine reason for separation.
    • Facilitates communication throughout the organization through response to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs; advising management of appropriate resolutions to employee relations issues, as well as through administration of benefits programs, and involvement in performance review process.
