    I was at the great MeriTalk Conference at the Washington Convention Center in DC when the quake hit. First the floor vibrated, then the ceiling hangings start to sway, and then ceiling items started to fall down on us so I hit for the floor under the table. It was all over in about 40 or so seconds. Left the event and spent 3 hours to get home. It was amazing to see all the people of DC on the streets and sidewalks while the cars and taxis tried to move on the streets. Metro rail was moving, albeit very slowly (15 MPH). I noted that there seemed to be no order to the “evacuation.” Cell phone service was poor, but I was able to use texting to find family members and be able to rally back together. Interesting event…
