GEICO isn’t just about saving you money on car insurance in 15 minutes or less. GEICO is committed to giving back.

Many do not know that GEICO stands for Government Employees Insurance Company. It has a long history with government employees. The company was originally started to serve the insurance needs of government employees. GEICO is still has a mission to better the lives of federal workers and their families.

GEICO supports the FEEA, a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to federal workers in times of financial hardship. The organization also provides scholarships to children in need. Some scholarships are rewarded to children who lost parents in the Oklahoma City bombing, one of the greatest tragedies in American history.

GEICO has also partnered with Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) across the country and around the world since 1999 to raise millions of dollars for charities worldwide.

Just wanted to touch on some of the wonderful causes GEICO is part of. It’s great to see a successful company still devoted to federal employees and federal causes. Check out the GEICO Federal Program.

GEICO was created in 1936 to provide auto insurance to federal government employees and their families. 75 years later, GEICO is one of America’s strongest, most financially stable companies thanks to the company’s dedication and support of the federal worker. GEICO is a proud partner of Govloop.

GEICO will also give you a discount on your auto insurance if you are GS-7 or above. I recently switched to GEICO, as they were by far the least expensive quote I got and are rated at the highest level by Best for claims-paying ability. GEICO also finished in the top 10 in Consumer Reports survey of their readers satisfaction with their insurance company. They are owned by Berkshire Hathaway, whose CEO is some guy named Warren Buffet. Maybe some of you have heard of him. đŸ™‚
