    Well, this should be interesting…

Over at Mashable, I just read this article about how Facebook filed papers yesterday to form its own political action committee, FB PAC.

The PAC, supported by company contributions, plans to back candidates in future elections. “FB PAC will give our employees a way to make their voice heard in the political process by supporting candidates who share our goals of promoting the value of innovation to our economy while giving people the power to share and make the world more open and connected,” a spokesperson told The Hill.

With as much leverage that social media has, and as influential as Facebook has become, especially in government, do you think this is a move in the right direction? What will Facebook lobbying look like?

A Facebook PAC could really contribute something positive to the democratic process by backing candidates voted for by its users.
