This sweet website / directory coming out of the University of Michigan – called CLOSUP ( the Center for Local, State and Urban Policy) may have been around awhile, but it’s first coming to my attention today. Here are some bulleted excerpts from the website :

    – CLOSUP’s “Public Sector Excellence” database is intended to help spread knowledge of excellence in public sector service delivery and of innovative solutions to public sector challenges being implemented by a wide variety of organizations including state and local governments, higher education institutions, public school systems, and more.

    – This CLOSUP meta-database aggregates information on winning programs from numerous award competitions across the country, including among others, the National League of Cities’ “Award for Municipal Excellence,” the Kennedy School’s “Innovations in American Government” award, and the Alliance for Innovation’s “Muehlenbeck Award for Excellence in Local Government.”

A quick glance at the project titles and you’ll everything from the Wipe Out Graffiti Campaign to Creating a Youth Driven Career Center.

This won’t be the last time we’ll highlight this project on GovLoop, guaranteed. 😉
