Go to Energy.gov today and you’ll notice things are a little different but mostly for the better. Monday morning the Energy Dept peeps rolled out a new design in the hope of making the site easier to navigate to the average user.

Starting with a content carousel at the top the makes it relatively easy to determine what big is happening at the Energy Dept right now which is always important. Secondly and maybe my favorite feature of the new home page is the “I AM” section of the site which allows you to really focus in on the info you are looking for by quasi customizing your experience just by letting the ED know whether you’re a customer, business, researcher ect.

It’s also worth noting that the Energy Dept. isn’t just rolling out style changes but also striving to make a more interactive site. With the redesign they also announced a new interactive video series entitled “Energy Matters” and “Profiles” a new feature on the Energy blog that will put a human face with awesome energy works that’s being done.

What do you think of the new look site?
